Back Log Update — Daily Velcro Strap Testing (Day 1)

Objective

We initiated a new series of daily stress-tests focused exclusively on the Velcro strap system. The goal is to expose weak points, measure durability, and determine the ideal length, lock strength, and attachment behavior across different vehicle seats.

🔧 Day 1 — Strap Strength & Locking Integrity

Test Setup

• Vehicles used:
  • 2023 Honda Accord
  • 2017 Toyota Camry
  • 2024 Tesla Model Y
• Strap mounted, tensioned, twisted, side-pulled, and torque-tested during repeated entry/exit cycles.

🔍 Findings

1. Lock Strength

• Lock disengages too easily under lateral force, especially in cars with tall or wide buckle housings.
• Sudden weight shifts increase unlock risk during driving.

2. Length

• Current strap length is borderline in several vehicles.
• Early data suggests a need for added length, but we haven’t finalized a number yet — the range is still open.

3. Material Behavior

• Velcro grip is strong initially but loses consistency after repeated aggressive adjustments.
• Stitching remains intact with no tearing observed.

📌 Updated Conclusion (Day 1)

We are not locking in any changes yet.
The early signals point toward needing:

• A stronger lock
• Additional length
• A revised attachment angle to the pillow

…but these are not confirmed. More testing is needed across more seats, buckle shapes, and driver positions before deciding on exact strap length or the final connection geometry.
